Bald Eagles at Conowingo Dam

If you like  bald eagles or want to photograph them, Conowingo Dam is one of the best places to view them. Conowingo Dam is in Darlington Maryland. The dam is a hydroelectric plant. The reason it attracts so many eagles is because the plant releases water in order to generate electricity. Fish and eels get released along with the water. There is a park and a boat launch at the base of the dam. The eagles are trained to get ready for the release. They wait in the trees surrounding the dam. The plant will sound a siren just before releasing the water. The eagles then leave the trees and fly to the water to catch the fish.
