Florida is a great place for wildlife photography and birding. On the gulf coast, the birds were everywhere. They were in the parks, in the fields, along the shore, and sometimes even in parking lots. I was able to get much closer to the animals in Florida than in other places. It seems that the animals are habituated to people there. Many of the birds do not seem afraid of people. So I was able to get real close.
I photographed Pelicans, Frigate Birds, Tricolored Herons, Yellow-crowned and Black-crowned Night Herons, Osprey, egrets and Cormorants on the gulf coast. I found a great marshy park called Lettuce Lake. There I photographed the Roseate Spoonbill, Wood Storks, White Ibis, Night Herons, Limpkins and Alligators. I photographed the Muscovy Ducks and Anhingas in Southeast Florida.
